Welcome to this jchanders-journal
Whenever you look at the stream of the most popular landscape and waterscape pictures on dA and that means the most-faved ones -, you will find that the more natural ones have a rather difficult stand. It is obvious that beautifying, artififying, sexying up or whatever we may call it, in many cases makes a picture here on dA more popular.
Now popularity is no aim in itself. Some of us will just do their thing without caring whether they get 5, 10 or 100 favs. Others are different and so am I, I must admit , as they feel the encouraging and stimulating power of popularity. Knowing that there is so much interest and appreciation of my pictures makes me often go on also on those days when I feel less like it. And I do have quite a few of those days, as some of you know.
Today I want to stand up for natural landscape and waterscape photography. It can be of high quality, and we should aspire to this high quality. There is no need to explain here how to do that.
To give you an idea of what I mean, let me rather give you a few examples of such pics from the shots which I faved in the past weeks and months here in both my active galleries. I hope you will like them too:

Let me today add my most popular pictures again:
